Interactive Campus-Based Activity in the Graphic Design and Animation I Course

On 6 October 2026, an interactive classroom activity was conducted by Assistant Professor Mehmet Ali Mersin within the scope of the Graphic Design and Animation I course for first-year students. As part of the activity, students first explored the university campus, observed their surroundings, and photographed areas and details that they considered to be in need of improvement.

Students then combined their photographs with the graphic design and visual editing techniques they had learned in class to create original collage works. The activity aimed to encourage students to look at their campus from a different perspective while applying their theoretical knowledge to a practical creative task.

The activity contributed to the development of students’ observation, visual thinking, creativity, and design skills, while providing an engaging learning environment in which theoretical knowledge could be reinforced through practice.
